How to clean your microwave

I will start by saying that I totally forgot to take a before picture of our microwave. It wasn't on purpose, I was just so ready for a clean microwave that I just jumped right in. Half-way through cleaning it, I thought, "Hmm, I probably should have taken a before picture."

Oh well! This is a super super easy way to clean that stuck on food. You know the kind... the explosions, the overflows, and the unknowns!? I will admit, my microwave wasn't too awful this time around, because we typically use one of those plastic food covers to keep the splatters contained.

We have one of those HUGE microwaves that fit about our stove. It is a monster!

This is the easiest way to clean your microwave, Honest!

All you need is: a 1 cup microwave safe measuring cup, half a cup of white vinegar and a rag.

Steps:
1. Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar in to the measuring cup and place in the middle of the microwave oven. **Please note, I have a turntable in my microwave, I don't know if this will work as well without a turntable microwave.**

2. Heat the vinegar on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Mine started to boil in the cup. DO NOT open the door when it is finished. Leave the door closed for 5-10 minutes.

3. Take a damp rag and wipe all of the surfaces in your microwave. The stuck on food should come right off.

4. Remove the turntable and hand wash with mild detergent if need be.

and... your done! Wasn't that fun and easy?

I find that vinegar is my go to cleaning product. It is safe to use on most surfaces, and chemical free.

Have your started Spring Cleaning yet?
